Introduction
The Graduate
School of Environmental Studies in 1981 established
the Environmental Planning Institute (EPI)
to develop the theory, practice, policies
and solutions of urban and environmental planning,
design, and management for better human living
environment. This Institute has established
a close collaborative system among industries,
universities, and research institute to promote
on-site understanding and practical solutions
for urgent environmental problems in highly
urbanizing and industrializing Korea. Research
performances so far well prove that this goal
has been successfully achieved.
In addition, this Institute enhances
education and research level of GSES by providing
students with internship and scholarship,
and financial aids to GSES to sustain quality
library, to publish journals, to conduct academic
researches, and to hold special lectures by
eminent guests.
At present, 17 chief researchers who are coincide
with GSES faculty, 50 full-time researchers
who are at the doctoral as well Master's level.
